Hello/Pialli!
My name is Mateo Huezo. I’m a Latin/Patlacheh person living and working across treaty lands in what is now called Alberta. I’m an activist, writer, researcher, healer, teacher, and therapist. I am registered as a Certified Canadian Counsellor and Registered Provisional Psychologist (Alberta). The work I do with clients focuses on using talk, play, and arts toward therapeutic healing. I also provide gender/medical transition planning and referrals, as well as training and support for allies. I am Co-Chair of the Psychologists Association Anti-Racism Task Force and am an instructor at NorQuest College. I love being on the land, painting, making really bad beadwork that my family feels obligated to wear, and spending long days playing in the sun or snow with my beloved niblings. I look forward to hearing from you!
