Throughout my years as a therapist, I have had the honor and privilege to work with, support, and learn from people of many different walks of life. As a cisgender, heterosexual Métis woman, I strive to continue to learn and recognize the ways my identities have shaped my experiences, and my access to privilege throughout my lifetime, while offering a safe space for others to explore their identities and the impacts these have had on their lives.
I am passionate about the importance of everyone having access to non-judgemental, accepting, supportive, gender-affirming care. In my practice, I strive to make therapy sessions a safe space for healing and growth to occur for 2S/LGBTQIA+ peoples. I know that learning is a lifelong process and I strive to continue to grow, improve, and learn from those who I work with, while offering my wisdom, experience, and expertise.
Currently, in my private practice, I work with children age 4+, youth, adults, couples, and families. In my practice, I have supported individuals who have identified in a variety of different ways across the gender spectrum, as well as sexuality.
My therapy approach is shaped by narrative, solution-focused, systems, sensorimotor, and expressive approaches (play, art, etc.).
Areas of focus include:
- Supporting couples and families (conflict, divorce/separation, blended families, parenting/co-parenting, supporting children with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties)
- Neurodivergence (ADHD/autism)
- Domestic violence/abuse
- School issues
- Grief and loss (including non-death related grief such as major life changes)
- Anxiety
- Navigating pregnancy (pre/post/during) and parenthood
- Pregnancy loss, infertility and issues around conception
- Support around navigating life transitions
- Advocacy/resource navigation
